Music venue · Morrison, Colorado
Red Rocks is a 9,525-seat amphitheatre wedged between two 300-foot sandstone monoliths at 6,450 feet, and it is the single biggest reason people search for a place to stay in the Front Range foothills. The venue has almost no lodging within five miles, so the real question is which direction you sleep in. Evergreen puts you 25 minutes west in the pines and total silence. Denver puts you 25–45 minutes east with dinner and a rideshare. We keep homes in both and will tell you which one fits your show.

Show-night logistics
The upper lots fill 90 minutes out on a sold-out night, and the single access road from Morrison backs up hard. Two hours early means you park, walk, and tailgate. Ninety minutes means you miss the opener.
Upper North and Upper South lots are the shortest walk to the top of the amphitheatre. Lower South means climbing roughly 200 vertical feet of stairs. At 6,450 feet, that is a genuine cardio event.
The rock radiates heat until sunset and then dumps it. A 78°F show at 7pm is a 48°F show at 10pm. Bring layers, a rain shell, and twice the water you plan to drink.
Drop-off and pickup are staged well down the access road with 2–3x surge pricing after the encore. Driving from Evergreen and parking is usually faster and cheaper.
Clear-bag and size rules shift year to year and by promoter. Check the venue's current policy the week of the show — we link it in every house manual.
The amphitheatre is free and open to the public on non-event days, sunrise to an hour after sunset. The Trading Post loop trail below it is 1.4 miles and one of the best short hikes on the Front Range.
Distance
Drive times are door to door on a non-event evening. Add 20–40 minutes on a sold-out night.

Red Rocks questions
If the answer you need is not here, send it to us and we will answer it here as well as to you.
Ask us something elseEvergreen (25–30 min west) for quiet, mountain homes and hot tubs — best if you have a car and want to sleep. Denver's RiNo or LoDo (25–45 min east) if you want dinner, bars, and a rideshare home. Morrison itself has almost no rental inventory.
Two hours before showtime for a sold-out night. Ninety minutes for a midweek show. The access road from Morrison is the bottleneck, not the parking lots themselves.
Yes, general parking is free in the numbered lots. Premium and accessible parking may be sold separately by the promoter for larger shows.
Yes. On non-event days the amphitheatre and trails are open free to the public from sunrise until an hour after sunset. Sunrise yoga and the Trading Post trail are both worth the early alarm.
About 25–30 minutes via Highway 74 through Bear Creek Canyon and Morrison. Add 30–45 minutes of event traffic on a sold-out night.
